¿Cómo has conseguido todas estas camisetas?

Como Travis Millard / Dinosaur jr , Get up Kids, Geoff McFetridge / Whitest Boy Alive, Zwan, y Raymond Pettibon / OFF! y Black Flag.

Alguna vez has pensado en diseñar tus propias camisetas?

Isac Walter Interview

Little presentation.

Im just a guy who has been obsessed with music since the 3rd grade. I don’t play it I just enjoy it.

Tell us about your crazy adventure: Minor Thread. 1000 different band t-shirts in 1000 days.

I dunno, one day I was mouthing off to someone who commented they had never seen the same shirt on me twice, so I said I could easily do 500 day sin a row. Then 500 turned into 1000 and 1000 turned into..to this date 1026 I don’t know when or if I will stop. I guess when it stops being fun and enjoyable and turns into work.

How do you manage to stock all these tees?

I go see a lot of bands, so I buy a lot of shirts at shows to support bands. Some I get form friends and some off ebay.

In your opinion, which bands have the greatest and the worst merch?

Great question. Iron Maiden really nailed the event location shirt. Meaning they will make a shirt just for one city. Really getting the fan stoked so they will never want to give it up, its like a wearable ticket stub that says I was HERE at this show. Other greats are def Descendents / ALL, NOFX, Slayer, Dinosaur Jr. I love bands that use good art as well like OFF! They still get Raymond Pettibon art which rules. Old Hüsker Dü shirts are great too/..but real hard to find. OH duhm, the Smiths, but they just had great art that lent itself to good merch.
As far as bad merch…it usually is the band that puts in the least amount of effort or does it as an afterthought. Maybe just text that says the bands name or something like that. Usually it is indicative of the bad it self and their music tho, so boring bands make boring merch. Know what I mean?

Wich are your favourite band t-shirt designers?

Another great question. Chris Shary is def at the top of my list. Mostly because he is a man who loves the art of t-shirt art. He collects shirts, embraces them and gets what they are about, and how it is more than a way to cover your pasty body. Other than that I love a good collaboration between bands and great art. Like Travis Millard / Dinosaur jr , Get up Kids, Geoff McFetridge / Whitest Boy Alive, Zwan, and Raymond Pettibon / OFF! And Black Flag.

Have you ever thought of designing your own t-shirts?

I have I just don’t advertise it really.

Could you give any advice or tip to the rising designers? Specially to the t-shirt designers.

I dunno. It never hurts to change things up. Make each design unique. I know we have all seen the Joy Division logo shirt a million times, but figure out ways to make them unique. Dates, places. Something that makes it unique to the era / designer. Just something that separates it from the generic mall version.

A t-shirt color: Any color. I get so sick of most shirts being Black or White
A t-shirt brand: I am a fruit of the Loom Best man myself. It’s the same shirt that ols shirts were and I like to wear my shirts in myself
A printing technique: 100% silkscreening w/ plastisols. I like texture. Cracking and aging
Favorite t-shirt mascot: 100% Milo
A dream job: I had it already. Editor in chief at Myspace Music during the hey day. Maybe that job again where you can try to steer music into a good direction.
A movie: Idiocracy
A series: Bob’s Burgers
A band: Descendents
A book/comic book: Spawn
PC or MAC? MAC
Cupcakes or pizza? Both make me fat. So if im gunna gorge myself I would just put the cupcake on top of the pizza and eat it together.
V neck tshirts. Yes or no? fuuuuuuuuuuuck no. No one needs to see MORE chest hair.
